Dr. Frederick Lenz - Rama

“What he had to say I related to quite well. He spoke of God realization as something quite normal and accessible. The analogies he presented were refreshing. He spoke of meditation as an act of self sacrifice, like throwing oneself into the fiery rays of the sun to burn up and each time one comes back, there remains a little less of the old self.”

 – Quote from the book Last Incarnation

Who is Rama?

Dr. Frederick Lenz, Rama was an American-born enlightened Buddhist teacher. He started teaching in his early twenties. He regained his past life enlightenment at age 31 and then went on to go further in realization. He was a teacher of the mystical, the spiritual and the practical.

In his teaching style, Rama looked constantly for American ways to bring the student’s consciousness out of their stuck patterns and into light. He was dedicated to find his past life students in order to help them to attain Samadhi that is the highest state of consciousness.

With his way of teaching he established American Buddhism – the essence of Buddhist teachings transmitted in a way suited to contemporary American society.

“I come into the world to be of service to beings who seek knowledge, empowerment, enlightenment; who seek to grow, evolve, develop; who want to have more fun with their lives and experience the profundity of being; who want to become more conscious in their short time in an incarnate form. I’m a teacher.”

What the enlightened teacher does is to lift the student up so that they can see. The teacher can point the way, but the student has to do it themselves.
